Peanut Chutney

Peanut Chutney
Ingredients:

Peanuts - 3/4 cup
Roasted Chana dal - 1/4 cup
Dry red chilly - 2 or 3 (depends on taste)
Green chilly - 2 
Garlic - 2 cloves 
Onion - 1/4 size, cut in lengthwise
Tamarind paste - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Seasoning :

Oil - 1 or 2 tsps
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 3/4 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Hing - pinch
Dry red chilly - 1 (Optional)

Method :
  • Heat pan over medium heat
  • Roast peanuts until it turns light brown, keep it aside and let it cool
  • Roast chana dal and keep it aside
  • Now in that pan, add onion, green chilly,garlic cloves, dry chilly. Once they are browned, remove and set aside to cool
  • In a blender add all above ingredients with little water and make a smooth paste
Seasoning :
  • In a pan heat oil over medium heat
  • Add mustard seeds, once it splutters
  • Add cumin, urad dal and hing fry it for 30 seconds
  • Add curry leaves finally
  • Add this mixture to the chutney
Note : Goes well with idly, vada, dosa
